Default Geek Golf...

I just got word from a friend that Almo is sending over a new driver for me to use. I believe it's a .com this with an X-stiff but I can't remember the shaft name. As a lot of you know, I have an R7 that can't seem to get out of my bag no matter what driver I try so I'm curious to see if it's the right fit for me.

All component drivers are really good from SMT, Alpha, Geek, Krank and so on but every time I tried one some guy in my group wanted it more than me so I never really gave any of them a shot to stay in the bag.

Have any of you tried any of these drivers? If so, what did you like about them over the OEM's out there.

i was just goign to make a topic on smt. i love my smt driver and it will never leave my bag. its very ugly but it wasnt when i bought it its just so old now but nothing takes it out of my bag. i have only changed my shaft in this thing but the head is by far the best thing ever. i dont mess with oem companies on drivers cause the cost.

instead of all these putters you give away how about some component drivers? i would do a lot to win another smt. keep it up brad, im getting to love this site.

Lol, I'll think about that. The thing is, with my contests, I have to give-a-way what I think all people will like. I know everyone will like Component Drivers but no one really gives them a shot. I try to make people aware of these companies but I'm still not sure how many people actually purchase from my suggestions.

They're top notch and honestly, if they had the money of the big OEM's, everyone would be using their stuff.

Back on the contests...it's hard enough to get people to simply write a paragraph to win a $300.00 putter. I'm going to have to re-think my whole contest type thing. To just sign up and have chance to win is just too easy. I have tons of prizes coming in so I have to think fast because some are valued at $1500.00.

have you gotten the driver yet? i'm curious as well. i've tried most of them but never had the chance to use one that was fit for me. they were either out of a barrel or in a friends bag. i really want to see what you have to say.

Not yet bud. It was sent last week so it should be here any day. It will be an honest review. I like all the guys that make components and have met most of them but they know I'm not going to sit here and lie saying there's is the best if I don't think so.

This is more of a test for me at this time. My driver has been in my bag so long that if anything takes it out of my bag, they will get one of the best reviews "ever" written!

Ok a little review for the Geek driver.

It's a 7.5 head with a House of Forged (Jamie Sadlowski shaft) at 45"

This driver sets up just as square as anything I've put in my hands. When I first hit this driver, it was going very high and right on me. Switching it up a little bit kind of fixed that for me but I don't like to change my swing for a driver or anything for that matter.

I was a little concerned because I thought it was my swing. I went down to my friends shop and he put it on the frequency meter and it read between a stiff and a extra stiff. I normally hit between an extra stiff and a double extra so it made a little more sense to me.

When I slowed down my swing, I was able to hit this driver for all it's worth. I hit it a little less than normal but maybe because that's because I was swinging slow enough to make the driver work. The feel and look are just as good as anything on the market and if you have a chance to get one of these, I would not pass it up.

The moral of the story to this review is, get fitted.

I would recommend this driver to anyone. A lot of people couldn't hit this club because it was a little too stiff for them but they could tell by the feel it was a great head.

The professor there over at Geek Golf is one of the best so give them a chance if you're looking for a new driver. They are a lot cheaper than anything you guys probably play and the quality doesn't lack because of the cheaper price.
